Farmhouse decor has seen a recent resurgence in popularity, but the woodworking principles behind its design are rooted deep in American history. Dating back to Puritanical times, farmhouse pieces were typically built out of felled lumber and produced to serve a basic utility: feed one's family.
We at WoodEyes Woodworks pride ourselves in not only recreating these practices, but doing so in a similar handcrafted fashion. We cut the mortises that join the base together and use hand planes to flatten and true up each piece of timber. These tables are meant to be passed on from generation to generation, and we take the proper steps to ensure this table remains an heirloom piece in your home for much longer than the original purchaser.
Furthermore, we hand-turn the legs out of sturdy maple & finish them with a durable clear lacquer for a near impenetrable finish.
These tables, like their ancestors before them, are built to last the harshest of winters and the hottest of summers. The final finish is a stain of your choice that we seal with waterproof membrane. A spilled drink or hot plate won't damage this table.
