Sourced from the burl growths of Western US maple trees, the slab features the wild, swirling figuring that makes mappa burl so prized among furniture collectors and craftsmen alike.

The deep blue pearlescent epoxy river wraps the entire perimeter of the round top, following the natural live edge of the slab and pooling into the voids and crevices the wood offers up. The result is something that reads almost like an aerial view of an island coastline — the burl as land mass, the resin as surrounding sea.
